My name is Cassandra Gelmanovich (formerly Babtkis) and I am the owner and founder of Sensitive Soul Fine Arts LLC. In 2018, I started my business to showcase my artwork and photography. At first I primarily focused on displaying my art in pop up galleries, art shows and farmers markets. Yet I realized I wanted to do something more with my art. I wanted to find a way to help people and incorporate art at the same time. This tug in my heart lead me to expand into Energy Portraits and a newly launched program called Grieving Forward with Art.
How I Got Started With Energy Portraits
Energy Portraits are a new type of personalized artwork I discovered when I realized that my art impacted people in a deeper, more spiritual way. There were a couple instances where customers broke down crying when they saw my art because they felt such a strong personal connection to it. I have always been very intuitive (dream premonitions, claircognizant and clairsentient) and I believe that side of me comes through in my art. So, I began to experiment with painting while someone sat in front of me, just to see what would happen. In these sessions I saw an abundance of beautiful imagery in my mind’s eye (in other words, I close my eyes, focus on the person in front of me, and I begin to see imagery in my mind) and quickly painted what I saw with my fingers. Yes, finger painting is my jam! I wanted to capture the tingling energy sensation I felt in my hands and put that right into the canvas.
When I described what I saw for each person, the imagery and color stories were very accurate and insightful to what was going on in the person’s life. This was very validating for me but for the person as well. They got a chance to talk about what was weighing heavy in their life or acknowledge feelings they had buried deep down. The whole process of painting and discussing the Energy Portrait after is described to me as being therapeutic.
I truly felt like this was my calling. Being able to help people and use art as a medium was the perfect way to express my passions in a professional setting. Once I started offering these sessions to people at wellness and holistic fairs, Energy Portrait sessions began to bloom.
How I Developed Grieving Forward With Art
I developed this program to help others process and honor their grief from the loss of a loved one. I weave in my own experiences with loss, my art skills, and some key takeaways from my Therapeutic Art Life Coach certification program.
Clients will create 1 progressive painting, adding a little bit each time over the course of three 90 minute sessions.
Each session will focus on different areas of grief
